HOW WALLPAPERS ARE INSTALLED?

Installing wallpaper in your home can be a great way to add visual interest and personalize your space. Here is a general overview of the process for installing wallpaper:

  1. PREP THE WALLS: Make sure the walls are clean and smooth. Fill in any holes or imperfections with spackle and sand them down. Wipe the walls down with a damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt.
  2. MEASURE AND CUT THE WALLPAPER: Measure the width and height of the wall where you will be installing the wallpaper. Add a few inches to these measurements to allow for trimming. Cut the wallpaper to size, using a straight edge and a utility knife.

  1. APPLY PASTE TO THE WALLPAPER: Most wallpapers require a paste to be applied to the back before they can be hung. Follow the instructions on the paste container to mix the paste and apply it to the back of the wallpaper. Be sure to apply the paste evenly and smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles.
  2. HANG THE WALLPAPER: Starting at the top of the wall, carefully align the top edge of the wallpaper with the ceiling or molding. Smooth the wallpaper down as you go, working from the center outwards to remove any air bubbles. Use a smoothing tool or your hands to press the wallpaper firmly against the wall.
  3. TRIM THE EXCESS WALLPAPER: Once the wallpaper is hung, use a straight edge and a utility knife to trim off the excess at the top and bottom of the wall.
